About

Doom / Sludge / Post from France

Red Quiet is a riff-infused power trio from Toulouse, in the South West of France, formed in the summer of 2025 by three veterans of the Toulouse rock and metal scene. Baptiste (drums) and Matt (guitars) had played together in Voidozer, and after that band split they were quickly joined by long-time friend Sebastien on bass and lead vocals. Their sound blends noise rock riffs, post-metal melodies, (post) blackened and post-hardcore screams, explosive drums, sludge heaviness and dissonance, an appetite for feedback, and odd accents and time signatures. Their influences include Mantar, Red Fang, Slift, the Melvins, Amenra, Bruit ≤ and Yob. Their lyrics and visuals come from their love of horror films, fictions that turn out to be less dark than the reality around them. Their debut single "Xenomorphism" (June 2026) is an ode to the 1979 classic Alien that casts humans as the real villains and apex predators, with a simple, striking message: "We are the apex predatory species, we should beware of ourselves." It was recorded, mixed and mastered by Yves De Roeck at Les Productions du Chauve. The music video, shot on Alien Day (26 April) at Studio Césame and directed by long-time friend and collaborator Jo Tempié, follows the four stages of the Alien lifecycle, and premiered on Outlaws of the Sun. In autumn 2026 they were selected for the États Généraux du Métal emerging bands contest at Ex Tenebris Lux in Montpellier, and they were due to start recording their first album in November 2026. Red Quiet sends a massive thank you to Yves, Jo, Studio Césame, Alexia, Florian, their loved ones and the video's guests: Margaux, Adeline, Laurence, Nadège, Jay, Luis, Pablo, Sylvain and Xavi.
